ITOFROM’s ShotLine: Transforming Mold Management into Data-Driven Manufacturing Assets
What kind of product is ShotLine?
ShotLine is a mold data management solution consisting of three core components:a wireless shot counter that can be installed on virtually any mold, a data collection terminal, and data management software.
Data collected from the counter is transmitted through the terminal to the cloud, where it is integrated and managed within the software platform. The system enables manufacturers to monitor critical mold data such as shot counts reaching into the hundreds of millions, temperature, cycle time, mold attachment and detachment history, and location information in real time.
One of ShotLine’s key advantages is that it does not require integration with ERP, MES, or PLC systems, allowing manufacturers to deploy the solution quickly and cost-effectively.
rowing Adoption Among Global Manufacturers
ShotLine has recently seen increasing adoption among major manufacturers in Korea, Europe, and India.
Many global manufacturers operate multiple factories and supplier networks using different production systems, making integrated mold management difficult. ShotLine addresses this challenge by enabling mold data to be managed under a unified standard regardless of the factory environment or existing systems.
A leading Korean electronics manufacturer has reportedly extended mold lifespan by more than three times by accurately managing shot counts and optimizing maintenance timing through ShotLine.
In recent years, global concerns regarding mold storage and traceability have also increased demand for the solution.
How Does ShotLine Help Solve Mold Storage Challenges?
The core issue behind mold storage management is the inability to clearly identify how molds are being used and where they are located.
ShotLine continuously collects mold-related data in real time, allowing manufacturers not only to monitor mold usage but also to track mold location information. This enables more systematic and transparent mold management across production sites and suppliers.
The solution can also be installed on existing molds, and historical operational records can be integrated into the system.
Why Focus on Mold-Centric Management?
Global manufacturers are shifting their focus from machine-centered data management toward the management of “production assets” such as molds.
ShotLine supports this transition by helping companies treat molds not simply as stored assets, but as active production assets managed through data.
ITOFROM believes that managing production assets through data will become one of the key directions of manufacturing DX (Digital Transformation), and the company aims to continue building environments where molds can be managed more efficiently and systematically.
Support in Japan
In Japan, support for ShotLine is provided through ITOFROM’s local partner, MS Partners (Minato-ku, Tokyo).
